Santa Cruz

Now we were back in California, Carl's sailing training regime kicked into full force. Ryan Cox, his wife Jeanette and 3 year old son Carter came up from Southern California to stay with us while the two guys sailed for the weekend. Jeanette, me, Olivia and Carter used the time to visit the Aquarium museum in Santa Cruz and the Roaring Camp Railroad and steam train.
The museum was a quick diversion and Olivia was quite keen on the books, but as soon as the train left the station she took a nap. And this train is LOUD! The whole ride takes about 1.5 hours up into the redwoods and back down again. Definitely worth doing, especially if you have boys on board. Olivia woke up as soon as the train pulled into the station on our return.
Other than the trip to the Emergency room at the hospital for Carter (and my first ever dialling of 911), it was a good weekend.
p.s. Carter is now fine.
